CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT 

Project Management is the art and science of mobilising and managing people, materials, equipment and money to complete the assigned project work on time within budgeted costs and specified technical performance standards. It aims at achieving the specified objectives efficiently and effectively by managing human energies and optimising the non-human resources placed at their disposal.

Construction Management may be defined as the management in which group of people of different categories works together, to execute the project economically without affecting the quality in a well planned and organised manner.

At present construction work in India is one of the most widespread activities, involving a range of people from the small builder in villages and towns to large private companies, public undertakings and various state agencies.

The construction industry is a major economic activity in India. Construction activities contribute annually about 10% to the Gross National Product (GDP), thus playing a major role in the development of the national economy.

Now a days construction activity has taken the shape of a industry of multiple activities. It is a well known fact that a single individual can not do all the activities, so he joined hands with other people to achieve his goal. The passage of time gave birth to the idea of organized management.
